Medicare
Better Access to Mental Health Care (Mental Health Treatment Plan): Under the Australian Government's Better Access to Mental Health Care, you are able to receive a rebate on up to 10 sessions with a psychologist in a calendar year. To see if you are eligible to access this, book in a long consultation with your medical practitioner (usually GP or psychiatrist) to inquire into a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) The rebate occurs after full payment of the session fee and can be processed automatically through booking software. This can alternatively be done through the Medicare App.

Eating Disorder Plan (EDP): Similarly to the MHTP, Medicare will allow up to 40 sessions in a calendar year to be claimed with Medicare, this will allow you to receive a rebate of $137.05. This plan provided by your GP or psychiatrists means that you can also access services of a dietician for up to 20 sessions in a calendar year.

Private Health
Private health may be processed after your appointment through your health fund. Speak to your health fund to ensure you are covered for psychology.
