About me

Hi! I'm Chelsea, a registered clinical psychologist through Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), I gained my qualifications at Queensland University of Technology, and the University of Queensland.

A bit more...

Why Psychology?

In school I found myself wanting to be a supportive friend, especially to a small few friends who were experiencing some severe hardships- that, no matter what I did, I just couldn't fix. So then my 18 year old self began studying psychology, naturally. Eventually, that 18 year old  self became a young adult, gained more life experiences, got more training and paired this with my own therapy (as every therapist should). It turns out that I can't actually fix people's lives or save them, and never should have expected that of myself when I was in school. What I now find as a driver of my career as a therapist is is how I can be there to listen, think with people, be a co-thinker to make sense of their troubles, themselves and how to support them make changes towards their own goals.

Do I have a life outside therapy?

Yes, actually. I'm passionate about my rewarding work, and spend most of days of my week working- but when I'm not, I enjoy working with clay/ceramics, painting, trying some kind of new exercise (right now it's roller skating!), pairing a coffee and good high-fantasy novel (hello, Brandon Sanderson), or riffling through thrift shops in search of rare finds with a friend!
